Position Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Gas Engine Generator Technician to join our dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems, ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of gas engine power plants across various client sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and maintain CHP gas power generation systems, ensuring top performance and efficiency.
- Conduct regular preventative and corrective maintenance on gas engine systems (Siemens, Gauscor, M.W.M, M.A.N., PSI/Ford).
- Lead fault finding and diagnostics on control systems and engine performance issues.
- Perform mechanical overhauls and modifications to control systems as necessary.
- Manage system testing and performance analysis to identify and implement improvements.
- Collaborate with engineers to integrate CHP systems seamlessly into broader plant operations.
- Assist in the installation of new generators, providing hands-on support and technical expertise.
- Foster positive relationships with clients and contractors during site visits, ensuring excellent customer service.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, operational data, and performance reports.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and environmental standards.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, promoting professional development and growth.
- Efficiently manage maintenance spare parts and coordinate service schedules across multiple locations.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in the operation and maintenance of CHP gas generation systems.
- In-depth knowledge of multi-gas engine power plants.
- Expertise in working with specific gas engine brands such as Siemens, Gauscor, M.W.M, M.A.N., PSI/Ford.
- Strong experience in commissioning and troubleshooting of CHP control systems.
- Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills for gas engine and control systems.
- Clean UK driving license.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in problem-solving.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teams and clients.
