Technical Gas Specialist – Desk based in Redhill
Basic salary from £50,000 / Monday – Friday work / Office based / On-site parking / 40hr working week
We are a successful, well-known plumbing and heating business located in Surrey. We provide a wide range of services to both residential and commercial customers specialising in boiler installation, repair, and servicing, as well as general plumbing maintenance.
We are now looking for a Technical support engineer to be desk-based — an excellent opportunity for a time-served commercial engineer who is ready to step off the tools and into an office environment, client-focused position.
You will manage relationships, ensure project delivery aligns with client expectations, and work closely with our internal teams to support the Commercial Division. This role blends technical expertise with strong customer service, planning, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with commercial clients
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables across heating and plumbing services
- Provide remote technical support to engineers and clients
- Identify opportunities for account growth through upselling and cross-selling
- Handle escalated client requests and ensure high satisfaction levels
- Ensure all client and service data is kept up to date in CRM systems
- Actively promote company services and adhere to all Health & Safety procedures
- Support internal reporting, parts ordering, timesheets, quotations, and job documentation
- Occasionally attend site visits (expenses covered)
Essential Requirements:
- Proven background in domestic & commercial gas engineering
- Strong understanding of breakdowns, installations, landlord certification, and servicing
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Confident with laptops, CRM systems, Outlook, smartphones, and apps
- Knowledge of relevant gas regulations and health & safety standards
- Able to interpret technical drawings and project specifications
- No criminal convictions (Police pass required – arranged by us)
Qualifications:
- City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent
- Domestic & Commercial Gas: CCN1, CPA1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1, CDGA1, CIGA1, CORT1,COCN1, TPCP1A, TPCP1,CoNGLP1PD
- G3 Unvented Qualification
- Experience working with domestic & large commercial clients
