Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Working Hours: 42.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9am – 6pm
About the Company:
A leading manufacturer in their field with over 30 years of experience, the company has recently undergone restructuring and expansion. They are looking for a talented Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their team at this exciting time and play a key role in their future.
Position Purpose:
The primary purpose of this role is to carry out preventative and reactive maintenance of all machines.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance: Perform maintenance on all production equipment on-site, including injection moulding machines, tool room equipment, ancillaries, and other machines/equipment as required.
- Root Cause Analysis: Conduct analysis to pre-empt potential equipment failure.
- Planned Maintenance: Execute planned maintenance on all equipment and record details on a maintenance software system.
- Liaison with Production: Coordinate with production teams to schedule downtime for repairs.
- Sourcing Parts: Identify and source new parts as needed.
- Breakdown Response: Respond to daily breakdowns and record details on a maintenance software system.
- Continuous Improvement: Recommend and implement improvements to reduce downtime.
Skills / Knowledge:
- Experience with extrusion and mixing plants.
- Ability to be licensed to operate a forklift, pallet jack, overhead crane hoist, cherry pickers, scissor lifts, etc. (training provided).
- Competent in operating handheld and stationary power tools safely.
- Capable of working safely with sharp and heavy objects.
- Physical ability to reach, bend, grasp, and work in confined spaces.
- Proficiency in using computers, including Microsoft Office and maintenance software packages.
- Ability to read and translate hydraulic and electrical drawings.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to respond to rapidly changing priorities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Punctuality and good attendance record.
- Ability to comprehend and follow printed and computer-screen instructions, and directions from supervisors or technical leads.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Previous experience as an all-rounder maintenance engineer in an injection moulding working environment.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in mechanical and electrical engineering.
- Fully Qualified Maintenance Engineer.
- 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations Certificate preferred.
Work Environment:
- Nonsmoking environment.
- Production area.
- Eye protection and safety shoes required.
